A traditional Victorian house in Penarth that needed a modern kitchen that was sympathetic to the age and style of the property. A good sized room with large picture window and a smaller window facing the garden, yet it seemed quite dark inside. Dropping the smaller window cill down meant the quartz could be flooded into the cill which brought the garden into view and added all important light. Choosing neutral paint colours for the Shaker doors, pale quartz worktops and a high quality stone style, luxury vinyl tile made the room feel bright and airy. A large table with feature lighting above gives plenty of space for the family to eat together and entertain friends in the new kitchen. Keeping an existing range cooker in the chimney breast adds character and in the winter, added warmth, the perfect space for a rocking chair.
